Balanced Salt Solutions

Balanced salt solutions have long been used in life science for research, diagnostic and manufacturing applications. There are many different solutions that include salt solutions, enzyme solutions, antibiotic solutions and concentrated nutrient supplements. Balanced salt solutions are processed in accordance to a Product Master Record (PMR). The master record defines the procedures for production, process control, quality control and final product release. Some specific batches of solutions are produced and sterilised by filtration or steam sterilisation under aseptic conditions. The sterile solution is then aseptically dispensed into sterile containers and immediately stored as required.
