Product Overview
Neomycin Sulfate is a water-soluble broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic. Neomycin Sulfate is often used as a supplement to cell culture media to control bacterial contamination, and is effective against gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Neomycin Sulfate is also used as an additive in agar or culture media for the selection of cells transformed with the neomycin resistance gene (neo).
Neomycin Sulfate inhibits protein synthesis and translation by binding to prokaryotic ribosomes. Neomycin Sulfate is also calcium channel protein inhibitor.
